As someone who comes from tech transfer and now working in corporate r&d, I cannot agree more with all your points. But I am especially giving you claps on your point about social media. I see a lot of crap selling on instagram while startups with amazing products are still marketing themselves via the old means (heck I even know one who “markets” his product via journal articles). Even if they are on social media, their videos and post are still in the typical advert format. I wish more startups could learn to really use the power of social media.
